Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading international Oil & Gas servicing firm, which provides services to major E&P’s in Nigeria to look for a Country Logistics Manager for its operations.
Job description
The candidate will be responsible for the execution and management of logistics operations for improving the service level to field operations. The candidate will also be in charge of all matters related to import and export compliance and timely movement of goods at optimum cost.
The Country Logistics Manager reports to the Transport Management centre manager and maintains a close working relationship with the units, operational Segments, Supply Chain and Finance functions, Trade control compliance and HSE.
The position will be based in Port Harcourt.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the implementation of the CountryLogistics Centre
* Builds and maintains an effective and lean logistics team in the regional logistics centre and ensuring continuous growth of individuals and team performance training, supporting and motivation
* Develops and manages processes for domestic distribution and Import/Export.
* Responsible for full customs, trade control and other transport regulatory compliance of all the logistics activities covered by his/her logistics centre
* Responsible for the implementation of programs resulting in continuous improvement of service levels to the field organization. Maintain a close working relationship with business segments to ensure service delivery and the right amount of support
* Interface with internal and external customers, freight forwarders, Customs Clearing Agents, and customs representatives to ensure efficient, effective and repeatable service delivery
* Manages local transport programs, including transport network, customs and regulatory compliance, supplier development and performance programs
* Develop and implement shipping guidelines/Process flows for all shipping lanes and on all modes of transportations
* Manages logistics costs and overall performance through identification of freight consolidation opportunities and root causes analysis of deviations, process improvement reviews, negotiation and administration of third party logistics contracts. Identifies and works on total cost reduction initiatives.
* Ensure safe operations and technical integrity
* Manage domestic logistics distribution and import/export costs
* Accountable for full customs, trade control and other transport regulatory compliance of all the logistics activities in the Branch covered by his/her base
* Implements objectives jointly with the Business Segments, and reports on the performance of his/her Logistics organization
* Assist the Category Supply Chain Manager with negotiating and administering contractual agreements required for third party logistics providers and key suppliers base
Qualifications et experience
* BA/BS/MBA Degree in Supply Chain Management, or equivalent
* 5 years experience in Supply Chain Management
* Must have good management skills and possess Strategic thinking abilities
* Must be Analytical, structured and be able to influence change
* Strong negotiation and Presentation skills
* Good interpersonal skills
* Ability to demonstrate principled leadership with sound business ethics and consistency with principles, values and behaviour
